Alexander Isak’s house near Newcastle is back on the rental market as the striker pushes for a move to Liverpool. Removal vans were seen at his Ponteland home, which he began renting in 2022 after joining from Real Sociedad. The property was burgled in April 2024, leaving him uneasy. Isak skipped Newcastle’s pre-season tour to Asia, has been ordered to train alone by Eddie Howe, and was even banned from a team barbecue.
Isak retains his No 14 shirt but won’t play against Aston Villa this weekend, as Howe insists on selecting only fully committed players. Newcastle have signed defender Malick Thiaw from Milan for £34.6m, joining Anthony Elanga and Aaron Ramsdale as major summer arrivals.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are progressing talks for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi and open their season against Bournemouth on Friday. A moment’s silence will be held across all Premier League games in memory of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva.
