AOC drops thousands on luxury hotels while 'Fighting Oligarchy' with Sanders, filings reveal

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign shelled out thousands of dollars at boutique and luxury hotels while she joined Sen. Bernie Sanders on their nationwide “Fighting Oligarchy” tour earlier this year, according to a review of Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.

The filings show the New York Democrat’s campaign spent $3,508 at Vdara Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas in March, $3,165 at Tucson’s upscale Leo Kent Hotel in April, and $3,445 at the lavish Asher Adams Hotel in Salt Lake City that same month. Additional payments were made to high-end properties in California, Idaho, Vermont, and Virginia.

The spending coincided with high-profile rallies where Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders railed against “billionaire greed” and corporate power. Sanders said the pair’s “Fighting Oligarchy” tour attracted over 300,000 attendees across 34 rallies in 20 states.

The report also follows earlier criticism over the duo’s use of private jets to travel to several West Coast events, raising questions about the optics of their populist message versus campaign spending habits.
