Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton have taken fans back in time with the release of their new music video for “A Song to Sing,” which debuted Friday, Aug. 22.

The country powerhouses — Lambert, 41, and Stapleton, 47 — announced the video’s arrival in a joint Instagram post: “‘A Song to Sing’ music video is out now! “We had ourselves a time at the skating rink,” the duo shared. Y’all enjoy! 🪩🛼”

Directed by Running Bear and produced by James Stratakis, the visual is a colorful tribute to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ iconic duets. The video opens at Brentwood Skate Center, with Lambert and Stapleton performing in matching suits under a heart-shaped disco ball.

In a nod to country royalty, the duo wear jewelry on loan from Parton’s and Rogers’ estates — Lambert with Dolly’s signature gold clip-on hoops, and Stapleton sporting Kenny’s bold lion necklace.

The video captures the joyful energy of a roller-skating night out: skaters lacing up, Lambert strutting across the floor, Stapleton strumming in the spotlight, and Morgane Stapleton making a sparkling cameo in a gold lamé bodysuit as she dances across the rink. By the end, an announcer playfully introduces the group as “Lamberton,” joking that they’ll perform daily at 4 p.m.

Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton released the retro-inspired video for “A Song to Sing,” co-written with Jesse Frasure and Jenee Fleenor and produced by Dave Cobb. The single, released in July, follows Stapleton’s 2023 album Higher and previews Lambert’s next chapter.

Back in May, Lambert told PEOPLE that her upcoming record would lean “very country.” She recorded the album in Austin at Arlyn Studios with longtime collaborator Jon Randall, marking her first Texas-made record since she was 18 — and her first under Republic Records.
