Joe Rogan came under fire after falling for an AI-manipulated video falsely showing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz dancing in an anti-Trump T-shirt. The moment unfolded during an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience with comedian Tim Dillon, where Rogan claimed Walz had “gone wacky” and insisted the video was authentic, even after his producer, Jamie Vernon, confirmed it was fake.
The clip, originally created by TikTok user @RoggenRoland, showed Walz’s face superimposed on the body of someone dancing to Don’t Cha by The Pussycat Dolls while descending an escalator. AFP later fact-checked the viral video, confirming it was manipulated.
After initially dismissing doubts, Rogan admitted he had been fooled, saying: “I fell for it, too. And you know why? Because I believe he’s capable of doing something dumb.” The viral mix-up fueled broader ridicule of Rogan and highlighted the growing influence of AI-generated misinformation online.
