Chloe Malle, daughter of Candice Bergen, has been appointed Vogue’s new head of editorial content. Born in 1985 to Bergen and French filmmaker Louis Malle, Chloe grew up between Los Angeles, New York, and summers in France before pursuing comparative literature at Brown University. She began her career at The New York Observer and went on to contribute to The New York Times, Marie Claire, The Wall Street Journal, and Architectural Digest.
Chloe Malle began at Vogue in 2010 as social media editor, later advanced to contributing editor, and by 2023 was leading Vogue.com. Her promotion to head of editorial content follows Anna Wintour’s decision to scale back after nearly 40 years as editor-in-chief. While she openly acknowledges the privileges of her upbringing, Chloe has said being a “nepo baby” pushed her to prove her abilities and work harder in the industry.
Beyond print, she co-hosts Vogue’s podcast The Run-Through, where she and Chioma Nnadi interview designers, celebrities, and cultural figures. Chloe also values her family life—she married Graham Albert in 2015 at her family’s estate in France, and they now share two children, Louis and Alice. Her mother, Candice Bergen, has often described Chloe’s birth as the most important event of her life and remains deeply proud of her achievements.
