Legendary rocker Neil Young debuted his protest song Big Crime in Chicago, performing with The Chrome Hearts to a charged audience. The 79-year-old later posted the lyrics on his Neil Young Archives site.
The track criticizes Donald Trump without mentioning him by name, referencing “big crime in D.C.,” “fascist rules,” and soldiers on U.S. streets. It also flips Trump’s campaign slogan into the refrain: “No more great again.”
The lyrics allude to Trump’s deployment of federal forces to Washington, D.C., his $2 billion request from Congress to “beautify” the capital, and his consideration of expanding such actions to Democratic-led cities.
Young, a long-time Trump critic, also published a blistering message online telling Trump to stop feuding with musicians like Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift and instead focus on “saving America from the mess you made.” He accused Trump of neglecting FEMA, mishandling crises, and caring more about his image than the country.
