Chinese newcomer Jaecoo has made a big splash in the UK, selling over 10,000 units of its Jaecoo 7 SUV in 2025 alone. Now, the brand is set to launch the smaller all-electric Jaecoo E5 this October, first unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show.
Styled with shades of the Range Rover Evoque, the E5 starts at £27,505 and offers features like adaptive cruise control, a 13.2-inch touchscreen with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, Sony audio, and advanced driver aids. The Luxury trim (£30,505) adds extras including a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated seats, ambient lighting, and an upgraded eight-speaker stereo.
“It supports 80kW fast charging, topping up from 30 to 80 per cent in just 27 minutes. The E5 also features V2L technology to power external devices, while offering 35 smart storage compartments and a boot that expands to 1,180 litres with the seats folded.” An 80kW fast charger can boost the battery from 30 to 80 per cent in about 27 minutes, while V2L technology lets the car double as a power source for household gadgets. Inside, there are 35 clever storage compartments, plus a boot that expands from 480 to a generous 1,180 litres with the seats folded.”
Extra touches include a Pet Mode to keep the cabin cool when parked, plus branded pet accessories. Developed specifically for UK roads, the E5 shares EV tech with the Omoda E5 but promises a more tailored drive. It also comes with a seven-year warranty and eight years of battery cover.
Parent company Chery will also bring its Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 SUVs to the UK, with more Jaecoo models – including a petrol Jaecoo 5 – expected to follow.
